Training for a highly qualified specialist who combines a solid understanding of mathematics with the capacity for intelligent thought and research activity. This specialist should be able to independently formulate new research goals and objectives as well as assess the innovative potential of scientific developments.
In other words, the program’s goal is to prepare students to participate fully in the research process, which is the foundation for a variety of professions, such as:
- Scientist
- Data Scientist
- Risk analyst for the financial markets
- Actuary
- Programmer, software developer
- Developer of mathematical and computer models
- Developer of big data models
- Risk Manager
- Specialist in mathematical methods in economics
- Specialist in mathematical modeling
- Statistician
- Apply fundamental knowledge in the field of mathematical analysis, complex and functional analysis, algebra, analytical geometry, differential geometry and topology, differential equations, discrete mathematics and mathematical logic, probability theory, mathematical statistics and random processes, numerical methods, theoretical mechanics in future professional activities by studying the theoretical materials of the listed disciplines;
- Analyze and use mathematical algorithms in practice, solving typical problems in subjects related to analysis;
- Ability to find, analyze and practice mathematical algorithms, formulate and solve problems in the field of natural sciences;
- Solve and formulate typical tasks in the field of natural sciences, applying theoretical knowledge using information and communication technologies and basic programming methods.;
- Develop motivation and ability to publish results in national and international journals using the obtained research methods;
- Demonstrate fluency in several languages by studying non-core subjects (e.g. economics, sociology, philosophy, Russian/Kazakh, Turkish, etc.)
Compulsory courses: Mathematical analysis 1-4 | Elective courses: Introduction to Algorithms |
The basic mathematical education provided by the mathematics educational program allows graduates to develop careers both in academic fields (continuing to pursue science and education in mathematics, physics, economics) and in applied fields: financial analytics, actuarial mathematics, computer science, information technology, bioinformatics, medicine.
The specialty (training direction) allows you to obtain fundamental knowledge in the field of mathematics, on which a wide range of professions is based: scientists and researchers in the field of mathematics; developers of mathematical models; analysts; programmers; mathematicians in applied fields, especially in economics, finance, business, medicine, science and engineering. The program is designed to encourage both breadth and depth of knowledge in Mathematics.
- Knows how to use fundamental knowledge in the field of mathematical analysis, complex and functional analysis, algebra, analytical geometry, differential geometry and topology, differential equations, discrete mathematics and mathematical logic, probability theory, mathematical statistics and random processes, numerical methods, theoretical mechanics in the future professional the activities;
- Аble to solve standard tasks based on information and bibliographic culture with the use of information and communication technologies and taking into account the basic requirements of information security;
- Аble to find, analyze, use in practice mathematical algorithms; to formulate and solve problems in the field of natural sciences.
