GRANT OFFICE
The goal of the program is to identify and support applicants and students from low-income families who are socially active and have sufficient academic performance and motivation for further education.
All grants are given on a competitive basis in accordance with specified criteria.
Academic performance and activity in community projects at university are taken into account in distribution of grants and scholarships.
Scholarships and grants are financed by both the University and sponsors (graduations,funds and companies). The provision and amount of financial aid are defined in compliance with established rules and financial ability of the university. The university does not guarantee financial aid for all students who apply for it, also it has rights to change conditions, criteria and allocation of financial support.
How to apply
Step 1
A competition for grants and scholarships will be announced at the end of each semester on the university’s website and social media pages.

Step 2
Submitting an application and completing a questionnaire on the page of the office
Step 3
Submitting / uploading a full package of documents to grantoffice@sdu.edu.kz (if necessary, provide originals of documents / certificates to the Grant Office-C110), as well as fulfillment of all the conditions of the competition for the selected scholarship and grant (motivation letter, essay, etc.)

Awarded grants and scholarships
- The oil company “Kurmangazy Petroleum” paid tuition for the 1st semester of the academic year 2020-21 for 27 students and applicants with high academic performance of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Science
- Kazenergy Association fully paid for the tuition of the academic year 2020-21 for 12 high-performing students of the Business School and the Faculty of Law and Social Science
- Grants were provided for 5 students and scholarships for 9 students by SDU graduates

FAQ
At the end of each semester, we announce a competition, and on the basis of the competition, we select the fellows
Students who study on a paid basis and who do not have other grants can participate in the competition “Tuition grant”
You will not work out, but there are obligations of the scholarship holder: academic performance must be at least GPA 3.00; be active in social events at least 40 hours per academic period
Good academic performance GPA 3.00 and write a motivation letter. If there are additional requirements, we will indicate in the announcement for the competition
The announcement will indicate the start of accepting documents
Until 15th of August and 5th of January of the current year from the moment when the SDU announced the start of accepting applications.
As a fellow, you must be a member of the student club and actively participate in the activities of the club, or be active in social events of the faculty, or be an assistant to a SDU employee for at least 40 hours in one academic period.
The payment of a scholarship or grant is terminated in the event of:
– failure by the student to fulfill the obligations defined by regulation;
– if student in an academic leave;
– student expulsion from the university;
– transfer of a student to another higher educational institution or to another specialty;
– in case of insufficient funds at the SDU.
