Partnerships with 7 universities in China – opening new international opportunities
Recently, an SDU University delegation visited the “Land of the Dragon” and explored China’s top educational institutions. As a result, partnerships were established with seven prestigious universities.
Collaboration with leading Chinese universities is a strategically important direction for our university. This partnership provides opportunities for international exchange in education and research, as well as mastering new technologies and innovations.
Here are some of the Chinese universities ready to work jointly with SDU:
Shanghai University of Electric Power
SDU leadership visited one of Shanghai’s most prestigious universities — Shanghai University of Electric Power — and established collaboration between the two institutions. During the meeting, SDU Rector Alimzhan Igenbayev and Vice President of Shanghai University of Electric Power Yang Ning signed a memorandum of understanding. The event was also attended by International Office Director Zeng Fenyu and staff members Wang Guangzhen and Xiong Huanhuan.Beijing Normal University (Zhuhai branch)
Another university that signed a memorandum of cooperation is Beijing Normal University (Zhuhai branch). Located in Beijing, this university ranks among the world’s top institutions according to QS and Times Higher Education. The signing ceremony included Vice President Chen Xing, Deputy Dean of the Law Faculty He Ting, and International Cooperation Director Wu Yujun. Agreements were signed with the Future Design faculty on several programs.Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guanzhou)
This university ranks among the top 50 in the world. It is distinguished by its focus on new, in-demand professions. Its modern campus, spanning 111 hectares, offers students opportunities for high-quality education and integration of theory with practice. This partnership facilitates student exchanges and dual-degree opportunities, with agreements expected to be formalized soon.Guangdong University of Science and Technology
Located in Guangzhou (Guangdong Province), this modern university comprises five campuses and specializes in engineering, technology, and applied sciences, while also offering programs in management, economics, arts, and humanities. Discussions with Dean Xiao Tan of the School of Management opened new possibilities for students.University of International Business and Economics (UIBE)
Situated in Beijing, this leading university specializes in international economics, business, finance, management, and law. Established in 1951, UIBE plays a key role in preparing highly qualified professionals for the global market. A meeting with a delegation led by International School Dean Jinlan Liu resulted in a successful partnership agreement.Beijing Normal University
Established in 1902, this is one of China’s oldest pedagogical universities, excelling in education, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and technology. The partners agreed on joint scientific conferences, student exchanges, and academic cooperation.Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU)
Located in Beijing, this university is renowned for teaching Chinese to international students and fostering cultural exchange. President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan studied here in 1983–1984. A meeting with Rector Duan Peng addressed partnership opportunities between BLCU and SDU.
Joint projects, dual-degree programs, and academic exchanges between SDU and China’s leading universities promise mutual benefits. This collaboration enhances not only knowledge exchange but also cultural ties and the professional growth of students and faculty.
