Rector of SDU University, Alimzhan Igenbayev, as part of the delegation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a meeting with the leadership of the global technology company Huawei. This significant meeting was attended by Huawei Vice President Li Junfeng, Huawei Kazakhstan General Director Max Zhao, and the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek.
As a result of the negotiations, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan and Huawei Technologies Kazakhstan. Within the framework of the memorandum, the implementation of smart classroom projects is planned by 2025. This initiative will provide outstanding students with unique opportunities such as internships at Huawei and participation in international competitions. Additionally, the company will organize job fairs aimed at facilitating employment for graduates, supporting their successful integration into the country’s digital economy.
During the visit, the Kazakh delegation toured Huawei’s headquarters and was introduced to the company’s cutting-edge innovative solutions, including technologies for digital classrooms and cloud platforms. The delegation also visited Huawei’s exhibition hall, the Huawei Cloud data processing center, and the Huawei research and development center. Particular attention was given to the Smart Classroom concept, which exemplifies digital classroom innovation.
The meeting also addressed topics related to collaboration in education and technology. Delegates participated in a test drive of Huawei’s innovative vehicle as part of the event.
Collaboration with Huawei aims to strengthen Kazakhstan’s international standing in the field of digital economy and train a new generation of specialists. This partnership aligns with the national strategy to enhance the digitalization of higher education and develop a competitive knowledge-based economy. The project reflects Kazakhstan’s commitment to advancing new technologies and modern skills in the information and communication technology (ICT) sector, contributing to the success of the country’s digital transformation.
