Today in SDU University the opening ceremony of the Center of Sports and Culture for students took place. Akims of Almaty region and Karasay district, more than 200 school principals and specially invited guests took part in the ceremonial event. Akim of Almaty region Marat Sultangaziyev opened the event with a welcoming speech, and together with the guests made a tour of the new building.

The meeting was followed by a lecture by SDU Rector Alimzhan Igenbayev, dedicated to teachers from Almaty region, on the theme “Highly Positional Teacher”.

In the sports and cultural center with the area of 4370 square meters, constructed on the territory of the university, all conditions have been created for students to lead a healthy lifestyle and engage in creativity. The new building has a gym with an area of 1400 square meters and rooms for various activities, an assembly hall with an area of 1700 square meters, separate fitness rooms for boys and girls, as well as separate rooms for changing rooms. There is also a dining hall, elevator, and parking lot in the building, which is equipped with a modern air circulation system.

In addition to academic education, SDU University participates in creative activities and stands to ensure comprehensive development.
