"Nature and Motion" exhibition
The “Nature and Motion” exhibition, curated by the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences in collaboration with The Multimedia Lab, serves as a platform for showcasing the innovative projects developed by students enrolled in the Multimedia Sciences and Information Systems BA program. At its core are two fundamental courses: INF 362 “Design for Manufacture” (3rd year students) and MMS 104 “Engineering Graphics” (1st year students).
These courses represent foundational pillars within the program, imparting students with indispensable competencies in 3D modeling software. INF 362 delves deeply into the intricacies of design, manufacturing processes, and digital fabrication, employing state-of-the-art tools such as Autodesk Fusion 360. Here, students not only conceptualize but also actualize their designs, utilizing 3D printers, CNC mills, and laser cutters to manifest their creations. Conversely, MMS 104 offers an exhaustive exploration of engineering graphics, leveraging the multifaceted capabilities of Rhinoceros 3D for precise digital rendering.
The exhibition offers a captivating insight into the diverse spectrum of projects stemming from these courses, each epitomizing a fusion of technical prowess and creative acumen. Ranging from sleek product prototypes to elaborate architectural renderings, the showcased projects underscore the transformative potential inherent within the domain of multimedia sciences. They stand as a testament to the students’ dedication, innovation, and the intrinsic interplay between technology and creativity.
