Kazakhstan schoolchildren became world champions in robotics
Kazakhstani schoolchildren under the guidance of 2015 graduates of the specialty Information Systems of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences of SDU University Nurdaulet Dosmagambet and Asylbek Myrzakhmetov have achieved record results at the FIRST Global Challenge robotics championship in Singapore. With this victory the national team of the country once again confirmed its championship title, won last year in Geneva.
“We brought to Singapore a strong team, which was selected at the national stage from among 200 schoolchildren from all over Kazakhstan. Our national team had responsible task of repeating the historic triumph in Geneva last year, and they coped with their task perfectly, setting a world record for the number of points. Moreover, the team has received judicial awards for international cooperation, which we are very proud of. Every year Kazakhstan’s robotics industry is turning into an international brand,” said Asylbek Asylbek, head of the USTEM Foundation.
FIRST Global Challenge is a world championship in Olympic-style robotics, which is held annually in different countries of the world. This year, more than 190 countries from all over the world participated in the championship.
