All SDU University students are provided with a Google G Suite account. Your Google account is the official student mail account of the University. Mailing Services at SDU University is committed to providing reliable, professional, customer-focused service to the entire University community. It handles all internal and external mail delivery and processing. They include announcements about upcoming activities, academic plans and all other information that should be provided to all the students of the university.
All the processes of mailing service are held through Google G Suite. Each student is provided with the email address (like ID number@stu.sdu.edu.kz) and default password by the SSC (Student Service Center). User should log in into gmail by using that email address and password. After first logging in, gmail automatically will ask to set a new password that will be used in further logins. Google G Suite accounts offer a wide array of features, including mail, calendar, unlimited Google Drive (free cloud based storage) and Google Hangouts (text, voice, and video messaging service).
WiFi
There is a Wi-Fi network available in campus called SDU_WiFi (only in education building), SDU_Dorm(only in dormitory), SDU_Guest and Eduroam. Staff and students should connect to this network.
Students should connect to this network.The wireless network allows customers the freedom to make use of Wi-Fi® enabled devices to connect to the Internet. It offers fast, reliable connections at data rates of up to 300Mbps. The service supports the Wi-Fi standard 802.11g and 802.11n with support for 802.11ac in selected areas. The service provides coverage in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wavebands.
Students can authenticate using WPA2 enterprise authentication. This provides users with a secure network connection which prevents eavesdropping. The vast majority of wireless devices are capable of using this standard.
My password
Students can change WiFi, Moodle, Office 365 passwords using this service.You’ll need your university username and university official mail address (like student ID@stu.sdu.edu.kz). The service will send a link to your email address to change your password. If not, contact the IT Department. (https://password.sdu.edu.kz)
Office 365
The SDU University has a subscription to Office 365 which means that all our students can benefit from the use of this constantly evolving suite of software for free.

Moodle
Moodle is a Learning Platform or course management system (CMS) – a free Open Source software package designed to help educators create effective online courses based on sound pedagogical principles.
Moodle is used for blended learning, distance education, flipped classroom and other e-learning projects in schools, universities, workplaces and other sectors.
