Institutional research: new opportunities in education
The III Forum on “Data-Driven Decision-Making in Higher Education: Current Issues and Future Directions in Institutional Research” was held at Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University. The important event was jointly organized by QyzPU and the country’s leading universities — Nazarbayev University, KIMEP University, and SDU University.
Experts, researchers, and representatives of educational institutions gathered to discuss ways to enhance the quality of education, the importance of data-informed decisions, and the integration of international best practices.
A distinctive feature of the forum was the combination of theoretical content with practical training sessions. In particular, Microsoft specialists conducted a workshop on how to effectively use Excel for data analysis.
Gulnaz Toguzbayeva, Director of the Quality Monitoring Department at SDU University, emphasized the practical value of the event: “The main goal of this forum is to promote the effective use of data for decision-making in higher education. Universities today must set clear, long-term goals based on accurate and reliable data,” she stated.
The forum became a productive platform for professional dialogue and collaborative solutions to pressing issues in educational analytics.
