Opening of the Fortinet Laboratory at SDU University: A Step Towards Modern Cybersecurity Education
On May 15, 2025, SDU University celebrated the official opening of its new Fortinet Laboratory, in collaboration with Fortinet — a global leader in cybersecurity solutions. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Andrey Bogdanchikov and Elzhan Nassipov, Fortinet representative in Kazakhstan.
The laboratory was established with the generous support of Fortinet’s official distributors in Kazakhstan — Abris Distribution and Marvel Kazakhstan, who provided cutting-edge equipment and assistance in deploying the lab infrastructure.
The lab is fully equipped with: FortiGate 30G, FortiWiFi 40F, FortiSwitch 248D, FortiAP 231F.
In addition, students and instructors will have access to Fortinet’s cloud-based cyber ranges and hands-on training environments for lab sessions and specialized courses.
Through the Fortinet Academy partnership, SDU students now benefit from a wide range of professional opportunities:

The opening ceremony was attended by engineers from Fortinet, Abris Distribution, and Marvel Kazakhstan, as well as university faculty, students, and administrative staff.
