Inclusive Education: SDU Student Wins National Contest
Inclusive education is not only about creating conditions for people with special needs, but also a reflection of a society’s moral standards and its movement toward civilization. Every person is a full member of society and must be given equal opportunities to receive quality education, develop their talents, and pursue their dreams.
SDU University is one of the first higher education institutions in Kazakhstan that provides access to quality education for youth with special needs. The tangible steps taken toward building an inclusive environment are already bearing fruit.
Recently, at the national Q Talks project organized by the “Bilim-Innovation” International Foundation, first-year student of the Faculty of Education and Humanities at SDU University, Sayat Samatuly Sapashov, studying History, impressed the audience. Despite his visual impairment, Sayat stood out with his thirst for knowledge and civic stance on pressing social issues, earning a special diploma.
Sayat’s dream is to become a history teacher and work in specialized boarding schools for visually impaired children. SDU University, in turn, is committed to supporting every unique student and helping them find their path in life.
