Rules for holding the media competition among students of universities—members of the League of Academic Integrity

Competition objectives:

– Promotion of the concept of academic integrity among students in Kazakhstan.

─ Development of students’ creative abilities in the field of media content creation.

─ Formation of critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze information.

─ Encouragement of discussions on relevant issues related to academic integrity.

Participants: University students who are members of the League of Academic Integrity are invited to participate.

Competition topics: The competition is dedicated to the topic of academic integrity. Participants may choose one of the following subtopics or propose their own: ─ The concept of academic integrity and its importance for students. ─ Manifestations of academic dishonesty in the modern educational environment. ─ The consequences of academic dishonesty for students and society as a whole. ─ Ways and methods of combating academic dishonesty. ─ The role of teachers and university administration in fostering a culture of academic integrity.

Work formats:

─ Video: The duration of the video should not exceed 5 minutes.

─ Infographic: Visual representation of data and information on the competition topic.

─ Audio podcast: An audio file discussing the competition topic.

─ Article: A written work dedicated to the chosen topic.

Requirements for submissions:

─ Submissions must be original and not violate third-party copyright.

─ Submissions must be formatted according to the specified requirements.

─ Submissions must correspond to the competition theme.

─ Submissions must be completed in Kazakh or Russian.

─ Submissions in English are eligible to participate in the ICAI international competition.

Evaluation criteria:

─ Relevance to the competition theme.

─ Originality of the idea.

─ Quality of execution.

─ Effectiveness in conveying information.

─ Social significance of the work.

Competition jury: The composition of the jury will be announced additionally.

Competition timeline:

─ Submission period: September 30

– October 10, 2024. ─ Results announcement: October 10 – 11, 2024.

Awards: Winners will receive certificates and prizes. The best works will be submitted to participate in the international competition (ICAI, USA).
