On April 29-30, Suleyman Demirel University hosted the Republican Debate Tournament “SDU CUP 2023” organized by the Kazakh Debate Club. The traditional tournament “SDU CUP” has been held since 2015, and this year it involved 276 students and schoolchildren from various regions of the country. The prize fund for the tournament was as follows: a total prize fund of 720,000 tenge for the student league and 180,000 tenge for the school league.
One notable feature of the tournament was the discussion and exchange of opinions on the most important political and social issues in the world of debates, using three different formats: American, British, and Lincoln-Douglas.

The winners of the Student League Champions were:
 1 Khaknazar-Khan Faction (Sirius, TEO Discussion Clubs) – Inkarov Inkali;
 2 Oda Nobunaga Faction (Golden Quality, Yassawi Debate Clubs) – Karimov Damir, Saparkul Zhansaya;
 3 Kokzhal (Alma-mater Debate Club) – Alibek Modibek, Berdikhan Mukasan;
 4 Khayyirlysy (UIB Debate Club) – Eranat Erkinbek, Abuova Zlikha.

Best Speaker Awards:
 • Rzabaev Daulet (TEO)
 • Saparkul Zhansaya (Yassawi)
The Republican Debate Tournament also involved debaters who were among the top 20 speakers in Kazakhstan, as well as other young debaters who achieved notable results at the national level.
