English Language Exam
If the applicant’s proficiency level does not meet the required criteria, they are recommended to go through English as obligatory compulsory lesson or University Foundation program. Level test is conducted in offline format.
Special examination in pedagogical specialties
- Time of submission of documents for passing a special exam for pedagogical specialties 09:00-12:00.
- The time of passing the special exam for pedagogical specialties is 13:00-15:00.
- The time of publication of the results of a special exam for pedagogical specialties is 16:00-18:00.

Admission Requirements after school
Admission to SDU University is based on the results of the Unified National Testing (UNT).
State educational grants are awarded based on the results of the competition conducted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Admission Requirements after college
College graduates applying for admission to SDU University and participating in the state educational grant competition must submit their UNT results.
State educational grants are awarded based on UNT results. To participate in the grant competition, applicants must score at least 35 points overall depending on the speciality and no less than 5 points in each UNT subject.
Applicants seeking admission to tuition-based programs after college are required to undergo an interview. The list of related educational programs is available in the document provided via the following link.

The application on admissions.sdu.edu.kz must be completed before visiting the Admissions Office. After completing the application, applicants must download, print, and submit the admission application form to the Admissions Office.
Proof of English language proficiency is required: an IELTS certificate: minimum overall score of 5.5 and at least 5.0 in each component; an SDU Language School certificate: minimum B1 level; or the result of the English language examination administered by SDU University.
Additional documents may be required for certain categories of applicants. Citizens who have completed compulsory military service must submit a copy of their military ID together with the standard set of enrollment documents.
IMPORTANT: Documents must be provided in both electronic and hard-copy formats, including both originals and copies.

Online enrollment
At SDU you have a chance to send your documents for processing online. You need to upload the copies of your documents and fill out the required forms. Step-by-step instructions to fill out online enrollment form are here.
You can apply for State Grant (for Kazakhstani citizens) by following this link. You do not need Electronic singanture or Pedagogical exam results to do that through our system.
After successfully uploading documents and filling out all the required forms, applicants have to get the original copies of the documents to SDU admissions commission before August 25 and pass enrollment exams at set time (please, look at “Important dates’).
Scholarships and discounts
State scholarship is a financial coverage, given by state for education. These scholarships are allotted only by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, universities serve a role of collecting and sending your documents to the Ministry to participate in scholarship allocation process.

- The discounts listed above apply to tuition fees only. Retake / Upgrade sessions and other additional services (e.g., language courses, dormitory accommodation, and meals) are charged at full price.
- All discounts, except social and partner-based discounts, are granted subject to maintaining a GPA of no less than 2.75 at the end of each academic year.
- Students entitled to the above discounts are required to submit their applications and relevant supporting documents to the Registrar’s Office no later than the end of the first 2 weeks of the current semester. Applications received from students are forwarded to the administration after registration at the Registrar’s Office. Upon review, an order granting the discount is issued.

Tuition fees for Undergraduate students
Tuition fees for applicants for the academic year 2026 – 2027
Upon admission to the university and signing the contract, the following payments are required:
1. Tuition fee for the first semester (at least 50% of the annual tuition fee);
2. Student fee — 60,000 KZT (paid once for the entire 4-year study period).
* Grant holders are not exempt from paying the student fee.
