Admissions process
- International applicants go through three-step process:
Step 1
Pre-Registration
For pre-registration, please fill in the Pre-Registration Application Form and upload the scanned version of the following documents:
- Passport
- Diploma(certificate) & Transcript
- Letter of Recommendation
- Motivational Letter
Step 2
Placement Test & Online Interview with Faculty
1. Placement Test (English Entrance Exam)*
You need to pass an online test and an interview in English.
* If you have an English language certificate (IELTS 5.5 or above/SDU CEC), you need to provide a scanned version of the certificate.
2. Online Interview with Faculty
Faculty members will contact you to conduct an online interview after successfully passing the Placement Test.
Step 3
Registration Fee & Acceptance Letter
After successfully passing the interview, you need to pay the admissions fee of $200.
You will receive an “Acceptance letter” and proceed with Online Enrollment registration.
We also remind you that the original documents must be submitted to the SDU before August 20th / January 10th*.
*The Fall Semester begins in September and the Spring Semester begins in January.
- Required documents to submit to SDU upon arrival:

- PASSPORT
- Copy of passport verified by notary (2 copies)*
- DIPLOMA(certificate) & TRANSCRIPT
- Copy of school diploma(certificate) verified by notary (2 copies)*
- Medical form №075 and X-ray result*
- Valid English Language Proficiency Certificates (IELTS) or SDU CEC Certificate
- 3 × 4 cm sized 6 photos
- Admissions fee:
For Bachelor’s degree – $200
For Foundation, Master’s and PhD – $200
* It’s recommended to issue those documents in Kazakhstan

- Applications are accepted till August 25.
- Student house check-in – August 28
- The number of places at the dormitory are limited. 1st year students are given priority when allocating the places. Students of 2, 3, 4 years can submit their applications after August 25.

Tuition fees for Undergraduate students
How much do I pay now?
The payment price list to get enrolled for the first semester of the first year is in the attachment.
You need to make the following payments before signing your contract:
- First semester tuition fee of the first year (as shown in the attachment)
- Admissions fee 200 USD payment (for international applicants)*
* Scholarship holders should also make admissions fee payment
How much do I pay later?
ECTS payment system is applied for Tuition fee policy at SDU.
Multidisciplinary courses (MDE) fees are different from Professional program courses (Program).
Each educational program has different professional program course fee.
Please, find in the attachment below all the fees for all educational programs.
Each semester a student can choose between 20-42 ECTS courses and needs to make payment accordingly before the start of the semester.
To graduate with bachelor’s degree a student needs to cover 240 ECTS credit courses.
