Kazakhstan and ICESCO are expanding cooperation in the field of science diplomacy. A dialogue titled “Science Diplomacy and Global Cooperation” was held in New York as part of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and Science Summit 2026. The event was jointly organized by ICESCO and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The information was published on the Ministry’s official website.

As part of the event, SDU University and New Jersey Institute of Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The document strengthens the strategic partnership between the two universities and lays the foundation for joint educational and academic initiatives.

“We are taking a step toward a strategic partnership with NJIT. Our first initiative will be a 1+1 dual-degree program. Today, a traditional MBA program alone is no longer sufficient — modern management education needs to be closely connected with technology. Therefore, we are considering a program that will cover digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other relevant areas,” said Arman Zhumazhanov, Rector of SDU University.

Following the signing of the MoU, the SDU University delegation visited New Jersey Institute of Technology and met with the university’s leadership. The SDU University delegation also included Berik Sabdenaliyev, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, Business and Law.

The delegation toured the university’s educational infrastructure and learned more about the work of its faculties. The parties also discussed joint educational programs, academic opportunities for students, and further areas of cooperation.

“This partnership creates an opportunity for our students to begin their graduate studies at SDU and continue them at NJIT, earning degrees from both universities. We chose NJIT because its strength in technology-focused business education aligns with our goal of preparing leaders who can work across management and emerging technologies. We look forward to developing these pathways together and opening new opportunities for our students,” said Arman Zhumazhanov, Rector of SDU University.

“This partnership provides SDU students with an opportunity to continue their education at NJIT and complement their academic experience with technology-focused business education. We are pleased to contribute to this collaboration and help students develop the skills needed to succeed across industries and in an international environment,” said Oya Tukel, Dean of NJIT’s Martin Tuchman School of Management.

The MoU opens new opportunities for further development of educational, academic, and institutional cooperation between the two universities.
