SDU University Hosted an International Student Research Conference on Sustainability and Decarbonization
On 9 April 2026, the School of Social Sciences, Business and Law at SDU University, in collaboration with Bina Darma University and Universitas Jambi, organized the International Student Research Conference titled “The Green Pivot: Circular Economy & Decarbonization.”
The conference was held in a hybrid format and brought together students, researchers, and experts from Kazakhstan, Oman, Indonesia, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Around 90 participants attended the event, including 60 students who presented their research papers.
The conference covered a range of актуal topics, including the application of artificial intelligence in human resource management, circular economy practices, decarbonization strategies, and youth engagement in sustainability initiatives. Experts shared international experience and exchanged ideas with participants.
One of the key highlights of the conference was the strong emphasis on student research. Participants presented their studies across several thematic sections and received professional feedback from the expert jury panel. The research works were evaluated based on methodological rigor, content quality, and relevance. As a result, winners were selected in the nominations “Best Presenter,” “Best Quantitative Research,” and “Best Qualitative Research.” In addition, selected papers were recommended for publication in partner academic journals.
The participation of high school students reflected SDU University’s commitment to supporting young researchers and fostering a research culture from an early stage.
This international conference marked another important step in strengthening the university’s research potential, expanding international collaboration, and encouraging students’ active contribution to addressing global sustainability challenges.
