MBA Management in Healthcare provides an opportunity for joint training in educational programs of the SDU University and KAZNMU and receiving two equivalent diplomas.
The program helps doctors and healthcare professionals advance to the level of business leaders by shaping a medical organization as an integrated system. It covers the use of strategic and financial management tools, modern marketing solutions, and team management practices that reflect current trends.
Participants will have the opportunity to collaborate on the creation of strategies based on analysis of financial metrics, business sustainability, and real-world case studies from other medical practices. The program also develops skills in strategic thinking, effective decision-making, change management, and the implementation of digital technologies, including IT and telemedicine solutions.
Graduates of the program will be able to:
- Compare different elements of organizational policy and the timeframes in which they operate to address practical business challenges;
- Identify and analyze key trends in business structures, core corporate financial decisions, and corporate objectives;
- Assess the ethical aspects of managerial actions in business decision-making;
- Compare healthcare information systems in terms of their ability to support the needs of a medical organization;
- Conduct analysis of strategic planning and management at the organizational level;
- Apply interpersonal communication methods and effectively communicate information to staff in the management process;
- Perform organizational, managerial, and financial analysis to improve healthcare policy in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements;
- Apply acquired skills in planning, analysis, and evaluation of research data in the field of management in professional practice.

Rustem Karimov is a finance professional and Senior Lecturer at SDU University with over 12 years of combined academic and industry experience. He holds a Master of Science in Accounting, Finance, and Management from the University of Bristol (UK), earned through the prestigious Bolashak International Presidential Scholarship, and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Auditing from the University of International Business. At SDU, he teaches courses such as Corporate Finance, Financial Management, Financial Modelling and Finance in Project Management. His research interests include impression management in financial reporting, monetary policy, and corporate transparency, reflecting a strong commitment to ethical and evidence-based finance. Rustem has also led and advised numerous financial projects through his consulting firm, ABD Capital, contributing to the financial growth and strategic development of SMEs. Nurzhan Mukashev, MD, PhD, MHSA, is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Center for Health, Policy and Management (CHPM) at SDU University, Kaskelen, Kazakhstan. His research focuses on health systems management, organizational resilience, and the climate-health nexus, with a regional emphasis on Central Asia. He teaches graduate courses in Health Market Analysis, Corporate Financial Management, and Research Methods, integrating data-driven approaches and real-world cases. Dr. Mukashev leads projects to strengthen the adaptive capacity of healthcare providers facing climate-related disruptions and works at the interface of academia, health organizations, and policy institutions to advance sustainable and resilient health systems.

Symbat Moldabekova is an Assistant Professor at the Economics and Business Department of SDU University. She holds a PhD in Management from the University of Edinburgh Business School (UK). Her research focuses on technology and innovation management, technology investment decision-making, and organizational decision processes, with particular attention to the banking and financial services sector. She has teaching experience in business and management disciplines at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom. Prior to academia, she worked in commercial banks in Kazakhstan, including managerial and appraisal roles. Lulu S. Olan’g holds a PhD in Public Policy, she is an Economist, public policy analyst, and researcher with over ten years of experience. She has research expertise in energy policy, sustainability, natural resource governance, and environmental regulation in developing and transition economies. Her work examines the political economy of energy systems, energy transition, ESG implementation, and environmental governance. She has extensive international and institutional experience, having conducted applied policy research, secondary data analysis, and qualitative studies in collaboration with academic and policy-oriented institutions. She has published in peer-reviewed international journals and contributes to policy briefs and applied research aimed at informing decision-making.
Dr. Olan’g is currently a Senior Lecturer at Suleyman Demirel University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in economics and public policy and contributes to curriculum development, assessment design, and student research supervision.

Abylay Tursyn is a Senior Lecturer at SDU University whose academic and research focus centers on applied econometrics and public procurement, with particular interest in strategic models for sustainability and evidence-based evaluation of procurement performance using large-scale administrative data from Kazakhstan. He is a PhD student in Economics and contributes to institutional research activity through work with SDU University’s Regional Development Center, supporting data-driven regional development and policy analysis initiatives. At SDU, he teaches Statistics, Econometrics for Business Analysis, and Applied Analytics, designing practice-oriented assessments that train students to work with real datasets, test hypotheses, and communicate results clearly. His key contributions include building and maintaining reproducible data pipelines and analytical workflows (R/SQL) for research and classroom use, integrating modern quantitative methods (including count models and survival analysis) into teaching, and translating research-grade analytics into practical decision-support tools that strengthen applied learning and institutional capacity.
