Kuanysh A. Yergaliyev

Director of the Center

Dr. Kuanysh Yergaliyev is a Medical Doctor and Public Health expert with more than 10 years of experience in the health sector. He holds a Doctor of Public Health degree with concentration in Public Health Leadership from Harvard University, Master of Public Health degree in health systems management from Tulane University School of Public Health (USA) and Doctor of Medicine from Kazakh National Medical University. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at STRIPED Incubator based at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Fields of expertise are Health Systems Strengthening in middle income countries, Evidence-based Decision-making, Health Behavior Change programs, Health Policy advocacy for children and adolescent health and using qualitative methods for health policy research.

Aisulu Kuanbayeva

Deputy Director of the Center

Ms. Aisulu Kuanbayeva joined SDU University in 2017 as the teaching assistant right after graduation from the same university. She was one of the first candidates selected among alumni for the “Zhas Maman” scholarship position. She graduated from the SDU Business School master’s degree in the sphere of Economics in 2019. At the same time, she studied at the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education in the sphere of Higher Education on the blended learning courses from 2017 till 2019 years. She has been working as a Personal Tutor, Teacher at the SDC College. Aisulu expertises in Educational Leadership, HR and Education and Interdisciplinary Educational Research.

Gulnura Arzanbekova

Ms. Gulnura Arzanbekova graduated from Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University majoring in two foreign languages: English and Chinese in 2019. She has experience of studying abroad as an exchange student to Poland and China. Currently, she is a second-year master’s student at Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education in Educational Leadership: Higher Education major. Her professional interests include Educational Leadership, Internationalization and Gender Equality in Higher Education Leadership.

Berik Sabdenaliyev
MA PhDc

Mr. Berik Sabdenaliyev is a dean at the Business School of SDU University, Kazakhstan. He has a Master’s degree in management from SDU and bachelor degree in management from the Kokshetau State University named after Shokhan Ualikhanov. His fields of expertise are Behavioral Finance, Investment Decision theories, HR management, and Leadership. He is a member of a government-sponsored project on pension fund unification in Central Asia.

Hayotbek Saydaliev
PhD

Dr. Saydaliev Hayotbek, PhD in Financial Economics (Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia) currently a coordinator of research in SDU Business School. He received his Master’s Degree in Financial Economics at University Putra Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in International Economic Relations at the State University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and second Bachelor’s in Emirates Hospitality Management Academia in Dubai (UAE). Saydaliev is interested in Financial Economics, Health Economics, Monetary and Fiscal Policy, Migration and Development. Dr. Saydaliev has published in SSI journals like Economic Research-Ekonomska Istraživanja (Q2), Global Economy Journal (Q3), and several others.

Ramis Akhmedov
PhD

Ramis Akhmedov joined SDU in 2006 as a lecturer and at the moment he is an associate professor at the SDU Business school. In 2007 became head of students social affairs where worked for 2 years. At the same time was coordinating international internship programs. In 2008, he became a vice dean on social affairs at the SDU Business school. Currently, he is a head of the Alumni department at SDU. He expertises in Management, Business Administration, Digital and Social Media Marketing.

Lyazzat Kosherbayeva
MD, PhD

Lyazzat Kosherbayeva is Associate professor at Kazakh National Medical University. Her field of interest is Health Technology Assessment. Dr. Kosherbayeva is a member of the committees of the Health Technology Assessment of Joint Commission on the quality of medical services of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She is also a member of the International Health Technology Assessment.

Dr. Lyazzat Kosherbayeva annually attends conferences on Health Technology Assessment with a presentation, worked on the organization of the workshop called «The use of evidence-informed deliberative processes for Health Technology Assessment in low-middle income countries» for the International Health Technology Assessment Conference. She is a co-author of the educational method called “Project-integrated learning based on multidisciplinary approach”. Co-author of the book “Public Health, Almaty 2015”, recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Kymbat Nuranova

Ms. Kymbat Nuranova is a research assistant at the Center for Health, Policy and Management and Quality Assurance Expert at SDU. She is a recent graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Master of International Affairs. She also works as a research assistant in a non-profit organization in Washington D.C. Her interests include international affairs, global health, and econometrics.

Olzhas Shulenbayev

Chief Medical Officer of “Private” clinic

Dr. Olzhas Shulenbayev is a “Bolashak” Presidential program graduate. He started his career by graduating from Kazakh National Medical University with a medical doctor degree in 2009 and master degree in 2010. From September, 2011 till December, 2012 had a medical observership in South Korea, Wooridul Clinic, by KHIDI. He was certified by the Ministry of Health, Republic of Kazakhstan, also certified by WADA, 2011, as Anti – Doping officer and Master of Science in International Health. He is an expert in Hospital and Polyclinic Management, Patient Satisfaction, Healthcare Quality, Healthcare Operational Management, Health Human Resources. In 2016, he received the Bolashak Presidential program scholarship and then became MPH in International Public Health at University of Heidelberg, Germany. At the moment, he is a CEO of a “Private” clinic in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Medet Ospanov is a “Bolashak” Presidential program graduate. He obtained his bachelor degree at Kazakh National Medical University in 2003 and proceeded his education in Umea International School of Public Health, Umea, Sweden where became a master of Public Health in 2012. Medet Ospanov also specializes in Management (BSc in Management at Finance and Management Faculty and Doctor of Business Administration in progress).
He expertises in Healthcare Policy, Procedure, and Guidelines development and implementation, Educational Leadership, Leadership and Direction, Compliance with international healthcare standards and quality initiatives and Nursing Leadership and Management. Over 9 years of professional career in health care and proven experience leading process quality improvement to enhance operations, maximize quality, and achieve positive patient outcomes.

Nurali Shakirov
MD, MHC

Mr. Nurali Shakirov is a current cardiac surgeon and Chief Medical Officer of Almaty SEMA Hospital. Starting from September 2017 he is also a Clinical Associate of Cardiac Surgery Department at Kazakh Medical University of Continuing Education. He started his career by graduating from General Medicine Department of the Semey State Medical Academy in Kazakhstan in 2008. At the same place, he continued on his studies and completed an internship in general surgery in 2009 and residency in oncology in 2011. After that, Mr. Shakirov studied cardiac surgery at Kazakh National Medical University in Almaty. He also had an experience of fellowship in Cardiac Surgeryat Kartal Koşuyolu Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital in Turkey, 2013. Finally, he obtained his Master’s Degree at JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Finland in 2017-2019 yy. Mr. Nurali Shakirov is an author of many scientific papers related to medicine. He is also a member of European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery and a member of Kazakh Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons.

Nurila Aryntayeva
MD, MSPH, PhDc.

Dr. Nurila Aryntayeva is a “Bolashak” Presidential program graduate. She holds a Master of Science in Public Health degree from the University of Miami (USA) obtained in 2017. Currently, she is a Doctorate student at Kazakh National Medical University in the Department of Public Health Sciences. Also, she is an analyst at the Erasmus+ project and senior researcher and lecturer at Kazakh National Medical University named after Asfendiyarov S.D.

Abzal Zhumagaliuly
MD, MSPH

Dr. Abzal Zhumagaliuly is a “Bolashak” Presidential program graduate. She started his career by graduating from Kazakh National Medical University in Kazakhstan where he obtained a Medical Doctor’s degree. After that, he proceeds with his studies at the University of Miami (USA). He has experience working in the field of public health in the USA. As for now, he is a lecturer and researcher at Kazakh National Medical University named after Asfendiyarov S.D.

Assyl Meyrambek

Assyl Meyrambek holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and audit from SDU. Currently she is a master student in economics at SDU Business School. Assyl has work experience as a junior associate in the audit department in PwC (2019-2020), and now she works as a teaching assistant at SDU. Her professional interests include Behavioral Economics and Entrepreneurship.

Talshyn Baimuldanova
BA, MSc

Talshyn Baimuldanova holds a bachelor’s degree in digital marketing from SDU.
Currently, she is a master student at SDU Business School specializing in management. As for now, she works as a teaching assistant at SDU. Her professional interests include Consumer Behavior, HR Management and Strategic Management.
