SDU University Team Wins 3rd Place at the National QazDatathon 2025 Competition
Staff members of the Institutional Research Department and 4th-year student interns from the School of Information Technology and Applied Mathematics represented SDU University at the QazDatathon 2025 national competition, earning 3rd place and a cash prize of 200,000 KZT.
The competition was organized by the Bureau of National Statistics under the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with El Umiti Corporate Foundation and Kazakhstan Sociology Lab serving as partners.
This year’s event brought together 42 teams from leading companies and universities across the country, including ERG, Beeline Kazakhstan, Kazakhmys Corporation, Gorvodokanal, RSE IVC MIITCR, as well as SDU University, Nazarbayev University, Satbayev University, Almaty Management University, NARXOZ University, Maqsut Narikbayev University, KBTU, and others.
The SDU University team — “Data Nomads” presented their project titled
“Multidimensional Assessment of Wellbeing Framework in Kazakhstan: A Regional, Territorial, Gender, and Age-Based Composite Quality of Life Index.”
Within the project, participants developed a modern and innovative analytical model that integrates key aspects of social well-being. This model enables a comprehensive analysis of the quality of life of Kazakhstan’s population based on region, settlement type, gender, and age.
The team expressed their gratitude to the SDU AI Lab management for providing technical resources and computational support during the project implementation.
