SDU University Students Participate in the IROS 2025 International Conference
SDU University students, supported by the USTEM Foundation, took part in the 2025 IEEE/RSJ “Intelligent Robots and Systems” (IROS) international conference held in Hangzhou, China.
This major scientific event brought together over 8,000 leading scientists, engineers, and researchers from around the world, making it one of the largest global platforms in the field of robotics. During the conference, participants discussed cutting-edge research and technological advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics, and exchanged professional experience.
The SDU University delegation was led by Dr. Yernar Akhmetbek, PhD in Computer Science, senior lecturer, and head of the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. His research focuses on autonomous mobile robot navigation and obstacle avoidance systems.
The delegation also included:
• Elnur Utebai — SDU student, chief engineer at Tensor Research and Development Center, and founder of N1 Racing, the first Formula Student team in Central Asia;
• Daniyar Yelubaev — Director of Stemshop, a strategic partner of the USTEM Foundation and SDU University;
• Azamat Abdukarimov — Head of the Industrial Robotics Development Department at the USTEM Foundation and a master’s graduate of Boston University.
