SDU University Expands International Cooperation with Leading Vietnamese University and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan
As part of an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a delegation of SDU University took part in a joint meeting with representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan at the University of Science, Vietnam National University (Hanoi).
The SDU University delegation was led by the Rector, Professor Dr. Alimzhan Igenbayev. The meeting was hosted by the Rector of the University of Science, Professor Dr. Le Thanh Son, and attended by the Vice President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Dr. Askar Zhumadildayev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to expand international cooperation in higher education and scientific research. Key areas included academic mobility of students and faculty, the development of joint educational and research programs at the bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels, as well as prospects for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The Vietnamese side presented its strong traditions in fundamental sciences, its model for training gifted students, and its outstanding achievements in international academic Olympiads. In turn, SDU University shared its experience in delivering English-taught programs, internationally accredited curricula (FIBAA, ASIIN, ACQUIN), and active participation in global academic partnerships.
Professor Askar Zhumadildayev highlighted the high potential for collaboration in mathematics, physics, computer science and related fields, emphasizing the importance of joint scientific initiatives and international projects.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to gradually develop cooperation in natural sciences, mathematics, computer science and quantum sciences, with academic exchange identified as a priority area for the initial stage of collaboration.
