About
Development and promotion of scientific research in the field of Social and Inclusive Education in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, based on the experience of the Institute of Special Needs and Inclusive Education. Our team of researchers aims to train educators and develop high-quality courses based on interdisciplinary research. These include the history of Social and Inclusive Education in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, issues regarding the education and socialization of children with special needs, socio-pedagogical and psychological support, as well as social and mental health in education, among others.

About
The Social and Inclusive Education Research Centre conducts research, disseminates its findings, and addresses societal challenges through evidence-based educational practices. To achieve this goal, the Centre not only conducts research through a team of qualified professionals, experts, young researchers, and scholars in the field of education, but also actively establishes collaboration with foreign and domestic research centres, educational institutions, and social organisations; organises professional development courses for educators; and hosts conferences and seminars.
Aim and objectives
1) Promoting a system of social and inclusive education that ensures children’s rights to quality learning within a safe environment
2)Supporting the social adaptation of students (particularly those with special educational needs), fostering positive “parent–school–student” relationships, and preventing social orphanhood within educational institutions
3)Providing professional support and ensuring Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for educators within educational organizations
4)Establishing partnerships and collaboration between the Centre, educational institutions, and research organizations
5)Conducting pedagogical outreach and awareness campaigns to build public understanding, support, and interest in social and inclusive education
6)Collaborating with Psychological, Medical, and Pedagogical Commissions (PMPC), resource centers, and parents for the effective implementation of social and inclusive education
7)Actively participating in the development and amendment of regulatory documents in the field of social and inclusive education

Suleimen Madina
Head
Lecturer and Researcher at SDU University. Author of social and research projects in the fields of social pedagogy and inclusive education. Her primary research interests include child socialization, mental and social health, as well as the specifics of teaching and supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).

Rollan Kamila
Scientific advisor
PhD in Education from the University of Cambridge. She serves as an independent consultant on accessibility and inclusion in education and culture. Her research focuses on inclusive education and leadership.

Yertargynkyzy Dinara
Senior Lecture
PhD, Assistant Professor. She conducts research in the field of psychological support for children and parents, as well as the creation of a supportive educational environment. She is also an expert in enhancing the research competencies of educators.

Soltiyeva Aiganym
Senior lecturer
Senior Lecturer and PhD Candidate in Computer Science. Recipient of national and university research grants with international academic experience. His/Her research focuses on Virtual and Augmented Reality, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Zholdasbek Kamshat
Senior lecturer
Completed an internship in the USA focused on fostering inclusivity in the sports sector. She conducts research on gifted children and inclusive policy in higher education. Currently, she teaches the “Inclusive Education” course at SDU University.
Research Areas: The research focuses on support for gifted children, university inclusivity policies, and student equality.

Projects
Project goal – to provide parents and caregivers of children with autism spectrum disorders with practical tools, advice, and strategies that not only help them understand the key aspects of ASD but also support the child and enhance their understanding of the child’s needs. The purpose of the research was to determine the stress levels of mothers of children with special educational needs among university employees and to provide them with emotional support.
In order to offer emotional support to mothers of children with special educational needs, reduce their stress levels, and foster an optimistic outlook on life, an intervention program called AMOR was developed and implemented.
The AMOR (Acceptance, Mindfulness, Optimism, Resilience) group therapy lasted 12 hours and consisted of 4 sessions. Each session was 3 hours long and covered topics such as acceptance, mindfulness, optimism, and resilience.
