Professor from Nara Women’s University Delivered Lectures at SDU
From September 15 to 24, Professor Megumi Sano from Nara Women’s University (Japan) delivered a series of lectures at SDU University for senior undergraduate students. The lectures focused on modern directions in mathematical analysis, providing students with the opportunity to gain new knowledge from an international scholar and engage in academic discussions.
The lectures were attended by 3rd- and 4th-year students, as well as master’s and doctoral students, alongside faculty members of the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. This academic event contributed to strengthening SDU’s academic partnerships and deepening students’ understanding of current issues in mathematics.
Professor Megumi Sano is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Nara Women’s University. She received her PhD in Mathematics from Osaka City University. Her research interests include variational problems, functional inequalities, optimal constants, and the attainability of extremal functions, as well as the relationship between elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations and these frameworks. Previously, she served as an Associate Professor at Hiroshima University.
Professor Sano is a recipient of the Mathematical Society of Japan’s Encouragement Prize.
