MMS Fest 2025 Held at SDU University
SDU University hosted MMS Fest 2025, the annual educational festival showcasing the learning outcomes of students enrolled in the Multimedia Sciences program. The festival was held in an open-exam format and served as a professional platform integrating art, design, technology, and research-based practices.
As part of the festival, the outcomes of more than 20 academic courses were presented simultaneously, covering a wide range of fields—from visual and multimedia art to design thinking, digital media, and experimental learning formats. The exhibition highlighted the interdisciplinary nature of the program and its practice-oriented approach to education.
This year, special emphasis was placed on inter-institutional collaboration. Within the framework of the joint Capstone Project course, students of the Multimedia Sciences program at SDU University developed multimedia works based on painting projects created by students of the T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts, exploring the interaction between traditional art and digital technologies.
Students from inVision University also took part in the festival, presenting two projects developed within the Design Thinking course, thereby expanding the educational and discussion-oriented scope of the event.
The final stage of MMS Fest 2025 featured a seminar with invited speakers—practicing artists and educators—who shared their professional experience in the fields of performative practices, visual art, design pedagogy, and creative education.
In addition, a conference was held as part of the festival, featuring presentations by Anna Tsoy, Moldir Karubay, Anastasia Ammosova, Alina Lobanova, Ayaulym Nurbekova, and Meruert Baimukhambetova. The conference addressed key topics related to contemporary art, visual culture, design pedagogy, and the development of creative education.
MMS Fest 2025 served as an effective platform for strengthening professional dialogue among students, faculty members, and partner institutions, while also contributing to the advancement of interdisciplinary education and creative industries.
