SDU University Hosted the Second Stage of the Republican Subject Olympiad for the Educational Program “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages”
On April 23–24, 2026, SDU University hosted the second stage of the Republican Student Subject Olympiad for the educational program 6B01702 – “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” (English). The Olympiad was organized in accordance with the official letter of the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 17, 2026, No.14-0/1382-ВН.
A total of 99 students and 25 academic supervisors from various regions of Kazakhstan participated in the Olympiad, representing the cities of Almaty, Atyrau, Kokshetau, Petropavl, Taraz, Oral, Karaganda, Arkalyk, Aktobe, Semey, Taldykorgan, Shymkent, Aktau, Kyzylorda, Astana, and Pavlodar. The participants included winners of the university-level stage and 2nd–4th year students with an English proficiency level of at least B1.
The Olympiad consisted of three stages. During the first stage, participants completed C1-level test tasks to demonstrate their English language proficiency. In the second stage, students completed oral pragma-professional tasks, analyzed given situations in English, and proposed well-grounded solutions based on pedagogical and methodological theories. In the third stage, participants individually defended project works on the topic: “Modern Approaches to Foreign Language Teaching in the Context of Educational Digitalization and Integration of Artificial Intelligence Technologies.”
According to the results of the Olympiad, the winners were as follows:

The winners were awarded by Dana Moldabayeva, Dean of the School of Pedagogy and Humanities, PhD, Associate Professor.
The Olympiad became an important national platform aimed at developing the professional and linguistic competencies of future foreign language teachers, promoting academic exchange, and strengthening interuniversity cooperation.
