Cybersecurity Day 2026: SDU University Hosts a Large-Scale Cybersecurity Conference
On April 24, 2026, SDU University hosted Cybersecurity Day 2026, an educational conference dedicated to network and cybersecurity. The event was organized with the support of Fortinet and Cloud24.kz, bringing together over 400 students from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
The conference aimed to introduce students to modern approaches to IT infrastructure protection, real-world case studies, and current industry requirements. Participants had the opportunity to explore real-life engineering scenarios, learn about emerging cyber threats, and engage with industry professionals.
The event opened with welcome remarks from the Dean of the School of Information Technologies and Applied Mathematics (SITAM) at SDU University, Рамис Ахмедов, and Commercial Director at Fortinet, Елжан Насипов. They emphasized the importance of practice-oriented education and collaboration with industry partners.
The program featured technical and expert talks delivered by specialists from Fortinet and Cloud24.kz. Антон Манушков presented a session on cybersecurity threats in 2026, highlighting the impact of AI, LLMs, and quantum technologies. He also delivered a talk on SecOps, focusing on modern approaches to operational security.
Бауыржан Амангос and Айдос Ускинбаев shared practical insights into infrastructure implementation. Руслан Шаймарданов discussed next-generation campus networks, while Жулдыз Курманбекова spoke about career opportunities. Анель Сейисагатова and Камилла Абишева shared their professional growth journeys.
A key highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between SDU University and Cloud24.kz. The document was signed by First Vice-Rector of SDU University Давронжон Гаипов and CEO of Cloud24.kz Данияр Байоралов. The agreement aims to enhance practice-oriented education and strengthen collaboration with industry.
In addition to the lecture sessions, participants engaged in interactive activities, including Kahoot quizzes, hands-on tasks, and work with demo stands and lab infrastructure.
Cybersecurity Day 2026 became a valuable platform uniting students, experts, and industry partners. The event demonstrated strong interest in cybersecurity and highlighted the importance of university-industry collaboration.
