SDU University Launches PD Sessions on Inclusive Education
SDU University has launched a series of Professional Development (PD) sessions aimed at promoting a culture of inclusive education. The goal of the initiative is to enhance the professional competencies of educators and education specialists in fostering equal opportunities, understanding inclusive principles, and integrating them into teaching practice.
The first session featured Zakhira Begaliyeva, Advisor to the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan and a member of the Council for the Development of an Inclusive Environment in Almaty. She delivered an insightful presentation titled “What is Inclusion and Why It Matters in Modern Society (based on the experience of the iTeachMe Foundation)” and shared her expertise with the participants.
During the seminar, the speaker emphasized that inclusion is not only an educational approach but also an important indicator of social responsibility and societal development. She also spoke about the projects and social initiatives of the iTeachMe Foundation aimed at building an inclusive environment, highlighting the importance of supporting individuals with special needs in Kazakhstan.
The event was held in an interactive format, where participants discussed mechanisms for implementing inclusive education, social adaptation, accessibility in educational institutions, and the principles of equal opportunities, engaging in active dialogue and exchange of ideas.
