The Great Day of the Nation – at SDU
Today, our university is celebrating Nauryz – the holiday of spring, renewal, and unity.
Traditional Kazakh yurts were set up in the university courtyard, and a generous feast was prepared for guests. Students and visitors who tasted national dishes such as Nauryz kozhe, baursaks, and kumys felt the warmth of true Kazakh hospitality. Each yurt was decorated in a traditional style, showcasing customs and national culture.
A concert program was held during the event, with students and teachers performing songs and kyuis. The sound of the dombra, national dances, and beautiful theatrical performances left a lasting impression on the audience.
— Nauryz is not just the arrival of spring, it is a celebration of unity and renewal. Through today’s event, we celebrated our national spirit and showed our youth the depth of our traditions, — said the university rector, Alimzhan Igenbayev.
In addition, national games such as tug-of-war, asyk shooting, arm wrestling, and other exciting competitions were held. Students participated actively, strengthening team spirit and friendship.
The festive event gave the university community a special experience and joyful mood. Nauryz is like a golden bridge connecting the past and the present. On this day, the SDU team not only revived traditions but also reminded everyone once again of the value of unity and brotherhood.
