Department of Secondary Education and Mass Open Online Courses
The Center for Professional Development and Innovation at the Suleyman Demirel University has set a goal to improve the quality of personnel in the field of secondary education in Kazakhstan by conducting advanced training courses for educational institutions throughout the country.
The rapid development of distance and blended learning around the world has created the need to prepare teachers for the innovations of new pedagogical approaches: combining new teaching methods and digital skills.
The center also set a goal to create a platform where teachers can improve their skills in teaching without interrupting the workflow or create their own author’s courses, thereby opening the way to online coaching.

Part 1: The Teacher:1.0
The first part of the two-part course “The Teacher: Formation of a Successful Educator” was held.
The first part of the program is a 30-hour flexible skills intensive course.
The second part of the program focuses on the specialized skills of teachers. This part consists of 50 hours and is divided into four subject areas: physical and mathematical, chemical and biological, English and computer science.
November 1 – November 5, 2021
Part 2: The Teacher:1.0
The second part of the course “The Teacher: Formation of a Successful Educator” was held, which is dedicated to the development of teachers’ specialized skills and is conducted in two areas: STEM (physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology) and EFL (English language).
More than 100 teachers took part in the course “Formation of a Successful Educator”, 35 of them received a certificate confirming the successful completion of the course.
November 15 – December 25, 2021
The Teacher: UPGRADE – Part 1, Soft Skills section completed. Teachers supplemented their knowledge in the following modules:
– PSYCHOLOGY
– PERSONAL BRANDING
– NARRATIVE
– PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Teacher: UPGRADE – Part 2, an EFL course for high school English teachers who want to improve their foreign language teaching skills. The content of the course was conducted in the following modules:
– TEACHING METHODS
– CREATING A LESSON PLAN
– GRADE
– TRANSDISCIPLINARY APPROACH
– ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES
The course “The Teacher: UPGRADE” was attended by 30 teachers, 13 of them received a certificate confirming the successful completion of the course.
April 4 – May 6, 2022
Short term courses
2021, the first 2 students of the “School-based scientific research” course were teachers of the Al-Farabi school-gymnasium located in the Karasai district. The course lasted for 1 month, and the teachers worked at a practical level, from choosing a topic for research to producing research results.
2021, the teachers of the Al-Farabi school-gymnasium located in the Karasai district participated in the “Public Speaking” course held in Kazakh and English languages, demonstrated their skills and abilities at the final event and were awarded with letters of appreciation.
2021, the first 2 rounds of the “Debate” course for school teachers took place at the Al-Farabi school-gymnasium located in the Karasai district. The course lasted for 1 month, and the teachers worked at a practical level, starting with various formats of debate, organizing an intra-school tournament and judging.

Спасибо организаторам и спикерам за познавательный курс по методам и платформам дистанционного обучения. Особенно понравилось выступление Дмитрия Черкасова, его креативный подход и продвинутые методы обучения с постами и челленджами в Инстаграм и других соцсетях. Сіздер берген ақпарат ауқымы өте кең. Оны игеріп, тиянақты үйрену керек. Қазақ тілінде өте жақсы түсіндірілді.
Курс спланирован грамотно, расставлены акценты на нужных вещах при дистанционном обучении и вообще как в цифровой среде “обитать“, спикеры, модераторы и тьютеры подробно объясняли сложные моменты, и реагировали мгновенно на вопросы, то есть обратная связь предоставлена в полном объёме.
Курсты кездейсоқ көріп қалып жазылдым. Алған әсерім мен ақпараттар өте әсерлі болды. Сіздерге жұмыстарыңызда табыс тілеймін. Алдағы болатын курстарға қатысамын.
Осындай семинарларды жиі мектептер мен келісе отырып, жас ұстаздарға өткізу керек. Жалпы семинар ұйымдастырушыларға алғысым зор.
