Wifi for studens and staff members
Wi-Fi network available in campus called SDU_WiFi (only in education building), SDU_Dorm(only in dormitory). Staff and students should connect to this network. To access the wireless network you will require your university username and password.Students use university ID numbers, staff use (name.surname).
Users should connect to this network.The wireless network allows customers the freedom to make use of Wi-Fi enabled devices to connect to the Internet. The service supports the Wi-Fi standard 802.11g and 802.11n with support for 802.11ac in selected areas. The service provides coverage in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wavebands.
Users can authenticate using WPA2 enterprise authentication. This provides users with a secure network connection which prevents eavesdropping. The vast majority of wireless devices are capable of using this standard.
1- Go to the WiFi screen
2- Select SDU_WiFi or SDU_Dorm
3-Enter the following information. Then select Connect
Android 6.0.1 and earlier
EAP method: PEAP
Phase-2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
CA certificate: Do not validate
Identity: Enter your university ID Number (for students), or name.surname (for staff)
Anonymous identity: Leave blank
Password: Your wifi password
4- Your phone will attempt to authenticate and connect to WiFi
1- Go to Settings, and select Wifi
2- Under the list of Wifi Networks, select SDU_WiFi or SDU_Dorm
3- You should now be prompted to enter both your username and password
4- Enter your university ID Number (for students), or name.surname (for staff), and your password, and tap OK
5- If you are prompted to accept the certificate radius.sdu.local tap Trust
You should now be connected to the wireless network
1- click on the the network icon in the notification area at the bottom right of your screen, select SDU_WiFi or SDU_Dorm and press Connect
2- Enter your for student university ID Number, for staff name.surname , and your password, and tap OK
3- Press to connect
1- Click on the Wireless icon at the top right of the screen, ensure Enable Wi-Fi is ticked and then select Edit Connections
2- In the Network Connections window choose Add, select Wi-Fi from the drop-down menu and select Create
3- In the Editing Wi-Fi connection window enter the following information:
Connection name: SDU_WiFi or SDU_Dorm
SSID: SDU_WiFi or SDU_Dorm
Mode: Infrastructure
MTU: automatic
4- Click on the Wi-Fi Security tab and enter the following information:
Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
Anonymous Identity:
CA Certificate: No CA certificate is required
PEAP version: Automatic
Inner Authentication: MSCHAPv2
Username: for student, for staff
Password: Your university password
5- Click Save to close the Editing SDU_WiFi window
6- Close the Network Connections window
7- You may need to click on the Wireless icon again and select SDU_WiFi or SDU_Dorm
Wifi for Guest
The captive portal is the name of the technology that uses web-based authentication to allow you to enter our wireless network. When you connect to one of the ‘SDU_Guest’ wireless networks, you will be connected to the University network and prompted to enter your user name and password. The password and user name are written on the “SDU Guest Card” which you will receive from the IT department. This card is valid for 3 days only.
Eduroam
Eduroam is the University’s wireless network. All staff and students registered at the University will automatically be granted access to the campus WiFi network using their University username and password. Logging in successfully will enable secure and encrypted access to the eduroam wireless network. To access the wireless network you will require:
- A WiFi enabled device
- Your university username and password
1- Go to the WiFi screen
2- Select Eduroam
3-Enter the following information. Then select Connect
Android 6.0.1 and earlier
EAP method: PEAP
Phase-2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
CA certificate: Do not validate
Identity: <your university ID number> (if SDU staff or student wants to use wifi in another university:<university ID>@sdu.local)
Anonymous identity:
Password: Your university password
4- Your phone will attempt to authenticate and connect to WiFiEduroam
1- Go to Settings, and select Wifi
2- Under the list of Wifi Networks, select Eduroam
3- You should now be prompted to enter both your username and password
4- Enter your for student <university ID Number>@sdu.local, for staff <name.surname>@sdu.local , and your password, and tap OK
5- If you are prompted to accept the certificate radius.sdu.local tap Trust
You should now be connected to the wireless network
1- click on the the network icon in the notification area at the bottom right of your screen, select Eduroam and press Connect
2- Enter your for student <university ID Number>@sdu.local, for staff <name.surname>@sdu.local, and your password, and tap OK
3- Press to connect
1- Click on the Wireless icon at the top right of the screen, ensure Enable Wi-Fi is ticked and then select Edit Connections
2- In the Network Connections window choose Add, select Wi-Fi from the drop-down menu and select Create
3- In the Editing Wi-Fi connection window enter the following information:
Connection name: Eduroam
SSID:Eduroam
Mode: Infrastructure
MTU: automatic
4- Click on the Wi-Fi Security tab and enter the following information:
Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
