Our university hosted the international chess tournament QONAEV CUP 2024. This event, held for the third time with the support of the Almaty Regional Administration, gathered chess masters from Kazakhstan and abroad.

At the opening ceremony, the Governor of Almaty Region, Marat Eleusizuly, highlighted that chess is a unique sport that demands intelligence, strategy, persistence, and patience. After the ceremonial part, the first move was made, and participants began competing against each other.

The main goal of the tournament was to widely promote chess among young people and to strengthen international friendships.

The QONAEV CUP 2024 tournament has become an important step in the development of chess in Kazakhstan, providing an excellent opportunity to discover new talents. The organizers are confident that this competition will continue in the future.
