Every year on December 10, the world celebrates Human Rights Day, the day when, in 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
For Human Rights Day a round table on “The place of human rights in an open society” was held at Suleyman Demirel University. Adoption of the law “On Human Rights Ombudsman in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, accepted by the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan on November 5 of current year, shows the importance of this issue in our country. The following questions were discussed during the event: What is the importance of human rights for the rule of law? How are human rights protected in Kazakhstan? What is the current situation? What are the comments about Kazakhstan in UNHRC reports? How are international law norms implemented in Kazakhstan?
Well-known lawyer Dzhokhar Utebekov shared his impressions of this event. He also noted that today SDU Faculty of Law and Social Sciences graduates are working under his supervision.
“Today’s event was amazing and I was really impressed by the level of the teaching staff. It is much more satisfying that your teachers are in full compliance with the trilingual state precepts. The surprising thing is that SDU graduates who work with me actively use Mind Map. It’s such a fun and interesting soft skill. I’m really very comfortable with it. IT direction of the university affects the quality of the graduates’ works. I am happy that they demonstrate a high level of theoretical knowledge,” said the lawyer.
