SDU University has awarded a targeted research funding grant to a research team led by Malik Satayev.

The main objective of the project is to explore the formation of value-oriented education principles among future teachers, as well as to analyze the impact of university pedagogical practices and professional socialization on this process.

The research will examine the role of value-based approaches in education, the influence of pedagogical practice on the professional development of future specialists, and current challenges in modern teacher education. The project’s findings are expected to contribute to the advancement of pedagogical education and the development of promising research areas within the academic community.

The SDU University community wishes the research team productive work, meaningful scientific achievements, and successful publications. We believe this grant will become an important step toward new research initiatives and large-scale scientific projects.

The BrutW1nx team, consisting of SDU University female students, achieved outstanding results at the SUCTF 26 cybersecurity competition by winning 1st place in the “Techno Women” nomination. The team also received a cash prize of 300,000 KZT.

During the competition, the participants demonstrated strong analytical thinking, practical cybersecurity skills, the ability to make decisions under pressure, and effective teamwork. This achievement reflects not only the high level of the students’ preparation but also the growing role of women in the fields of IT and cybersecurity.

Such achievements highlight the importance of supporting talented youth and creating more opportunities for women in the technology sector.

On April 29, 2026, SDU Extension Center summarized the results of the professional development program “Fundamentals of Endowment and Fundraising.”

The program served as an effective platform for professional dialogue and experience exchange among participants from various regions of Kazakhstan. A total of 29 participants from different cities, representing academic, managerial, and educational sectors, took part in the training.

The final day of the program featured key events highlighting its practical focus and the development of partnership initiatives. A meeting was held with representatives of the Aurora Ala Corporate Foundation and the leadership of SDU University, where the results of joint work were discussed and future cooperation prospects were outlined. A memorandum of cooperation in the fields of education, science, and innovation was also signed.

As part of the closing events, participants attended a campus tour and a closing ceremony, where certificates were awarded. The program concluded with a networking session involving graduates, speakers, and partners.

Throughout the course, special emphasis was placed on developing core competencies in endowment management, strategic fundraising, and the sustainable development of educational institutions.

The program was implemented through the joint efforts of SDU Extension Center and the Aurora Ala Corporate Foundation, laying the foundation for further development of practice-oriented educational initiatives and the expansion of partnership programs.

On April 24, 2026, SDU University hosted Cybersecurity Day 2026, an educational conference dedicated to network and cybersecurity. The event was organized with the support of Fortinet and Cloud24.kz, bringing together over 400 students from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The conference aimed to introduce students to modern approaches to IT infrastructure protection, real-world case studies, and current industry requirements. Participants had the opportunity to explore real-life engineering scenarios, learn about emerging cyber threats, and engage with industry professionals.

The event opened with welcome remarks from the Dean of the School of Information Technologies and Applied Mathematics (SITAM) at SDU University, Рамис Ахмедов, and Commercial Director at Fortinet, Елжан Насипов. They emphasized the importance of practice-oriented education and collaboration with industry partners.

The program featured technical and expert talks delivered by specialists from Fortinet and Cloud24.kz. Антон Манушков presented a session on cybersecurity threats in 2026, highlighting the impact of AI, LLMs, and quantum technologies. He also delivered a talk on SecOps, focusing on modern approaches to operational security.

Бауыржан Амангос and Айдос Ускинбаев shared practical insights into infrastructure implementation. Руслан Шаймарданов discussed next-generation campus networks, while Жулдыз Курманбекова spoke about career opportunities. Анель Сейисагатова and Камилла Абишева shared their professional growth journeys.

A key highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between SDU University and Cloud24.kz. The document was signed by First Vice-Rector of SDU University Давронжон Гаипов and CEO of Cloud24.kz Данияр Байоралов. The agreement aims to enhance practice-oriented education and strengthen collaboration with industry.

In addition to the lecture sessions, participants engaged in interactive activities, including Kahoot quizzes, hands-on tasks, and work with demo stands and lab infrastructure.

Cybersecurity Day 2026 became a valuable platform uniting students, experts, and industry partners. The event demonstrated strong interest in cybersecurity and highlighted the importance of university-industry collaboration.

Technopark SDU continues to systematically develop the Legal Tech field, bringing together law and technology. This initiative aims to support innovative solutions and advance digital transformation in the legal sector.

Technopark SDU is open to collaboration with Legal Tech organizations and startups working in this domain. Particular focus is placed on legal process automation, data analytics, digital legal services, and AI-powered solutions.

SDU University hosted the grand opening of the Center for Social and Inclusive Education Research. The establishment of the center marks an important step toward advancing research in inclusive education, integrating international best practices, and implementing modern approaches in the educational process.

As part of this initiative, SDU University and the Education University of Hong Kong signed a scientific agreement on the joint development of the new research center. This partnership will strengthen bilateral academic cooperation and create opportunities for joint projects and academic exchange.

The opening ceremony featured Dean of the School of Education and Humanities Dana Moldabayeva, Director of the ISNIE Institute at the Education University of Hong Kong, Professor Sin Kenneth, as well as distinguished guests — Professor Zulfiya Akhmetvalievna Movkebayeva and Acting Director of the National Scientific and Practical Center for the Development of Special and Inclusive Education Zaure Bolatovna Zhangeldinova.

In addition, the university hosted the international conference “Science Talks: All about Inclusion II.” During the plenary session, researchers and experts from Hong Kong, Finland, and Kazakhstan — Sin Kenneth, Chan Kai Yin, Wilk Oliveira, Zulfiya Movkebayeva, Akmaral Magauova, Tleulina Tlektes, and Ruslan Kashchaev — shared their expertise in inclusive education.

The conference program featured four thematic sessions: “Effective Use of Advanced Technologies in Inclusive Education,” “Supportive Learning Environments and Psychosocial Well-being of Learners,” “Individual Developmental Characteristics of Children and Early Identification and Support Systems for Special Educational Needs,” and “IB in Kazakhstan: A Pathway to Inclusive Education.” The event also included a young researchers’ competition and an EdTech exhibition.

These initiatives highlight SDU University’s ongoing commitment to advancing inclusive education, adopting international practices, and fostering strong collaboration with the global academic community.

On April 23–24, 2026, SDU University hosted the second stage of the Republican Student Subject Olympiad for the educational program 6B01702 – “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” (English). The Olympiad was organized in accordance with the official letter of the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 17, 2026, No.14-0/1382-ВН.

A total of 99 students and 25 academic supervisors from various regions of Kazakhstan participated in the Olympiad, representing the cities of Almaty, Atyrau, Kokshetau, Petropavl, Taraz, Oral, Karaganda, Arkalyk, Aktobe, Semey, Taldykorgan, Shymkent, Aktau, Kyzylorda, Astana, and Pavlodar. The participants included winners of the university-level stage and 2nd–4th year students with an English proficiency level of at least B1.

The Olympiad consisted of three stages. During the first stage, participants completed C1-level test tasks to demonstrate their English language proficiency. In the second stage, students completed oral pragma-professional tasks, analyzed given situations in English, and proposed well-grounded solutions based on pedagogical and methodological theories. In the third stage, participants individually defended project works on the topic: “Modern Approaches to Foreign Language Teaching in the Context of Educational Digitalization and Integration of Artificial Intelligence Technologies.”

According to the results of the Olympiad, the winners were as follows:

The Olympiad became an important national platform aimed at developing the professional and linguistic competencies of future foreign language teachers, promoting academic exchange, and strengthening interuniversity cooperation.

On April 22, 2026, SDU University in Kaskelen, Almaty Region, hosted the national student leaders forum titled “New Constitution – Youth.”

The large-scale event brought together student self-government leaders, student government presidents, representatives of regional ombudsmen, and active youth from 75 higher education institutions across the country. The forum was held offline and served as a national platform for experience exchange.

During the forum, participants discussed ways to enhance legal literacy among youth, explain the key principles of the new Constitution, and develop spiritual, intellectual, and leadership qualities based on Abai Kunanbayev’s concept of the “Perfect Human.”

The program featured panel sessions, practical workshops, and experience-sharing platforms under the themes “Bright Mind,” “Warm Heart,” and “Strong Will.” In addition, participants took part in a university tour and attended a tree-planting ceremony dedicated to the opening of the “Leaders’ Alley.”

The forum also addressed key issues in education, legal culture, youth policy, and social responsibility, while fostering effective networking among participants.

As a result of the event, specific proposals were developed aimed at enhancing students’ leadership and professional competencies, strengthening inter-university cooperation, and increasing youth engagement in public life.

In accordance with the Order of the Chair of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated April 7, 2026, No. 209, Associate Professor of the Department of Language Education Akmarzhan Almurzayevna Nogaibayeva has been awarded the academic title of Associate Professor (Docent) in the scientific field 50300 – “Education”.

This achievement is a clear recognition of the scholar’s many years of dedicated work, professional excellence, and high accomplishments in research and teaching activities.
