The winners of the SDU Open Student Programming Championship (ICPC) have been announced

ICPC Student Programming Championship SDU Open has announced its winners last week. The absolute winners were International University of Information Technologies students from Almaty. Abai Baymukanov, Aybar Kuanyshbai and Torezhan Botakanov led the team to the victory. The second and third places were shared by 5 teams. In total, 745 participants from all Kazakhstan participated in the competition. For five hours, students competed in logic, speed and strategy. The olympiad’s main organizers were Suleyman Demirel University and Transtelecom JSC. “We were glad to support the idea of sponsoring this championship. Our goal was not only to popularize the IT and programming, but also to support the best students with promising results. In an acute and intense struggle, the winners of the tournament managed to demonstrate their outstanding skills and logic. The winners were awarded a one-year monthly scholarship from TTS,» said Yerlan Minavar, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Transtelecom JSC. “SDU is organizing this championship not for the first time. This year it is timed to the 25th anniversary of the university. 

The purpose of this event is to give fans of programming an opportunity to prove themselves and test their strength in the competition, and it is also, of course, the best way ti spot the light on new talents. ICPC is developing actively in Kazakhstan, so I hope that this competition will become a platform for meetings of the best programmers’’ – Vice-Rector of SDU for Academic Affairs Andrey Bogdanchikov. It should be noted that the total prize fund amounted to about 10 million tenge. In addition, the winners of the championship will be able to complete an internship at the TTS and get into the personnel reserve.
