SDU hosted a professor from the US, Dr. Don McKay on October 18. During his visit, Dr. Don McKay gave a lecture on "STEM in the context" for students and teachers of the Department of Natural Sciences.
In the lesson he shared his personal experience in applying the technique, STEM and PBL technologies. As an example, he gave a lesson on greenhouse gases. During the six-week course, the trainers carry out a project to study the effect of greenhouse gases and as a result learn not only chemistry, but also other topics in physics, mathematics, computer science and geometry, acquire the skills of practical work and scientific search.
The topic of the lecture aroused great interest among the audience, many questions were asked, for which full answers were received. In the end, the head of the department, assistant professor Talgat Yechshzhanov thanked Dr. Don McKay for such an entertaining presentation.
