Prof. Dr. Azamat Akbarov, Dean of Philology and Educational Sciences Faculty, paid a working visit to Czech Republic from 21st to 25th of November 2016. The aim was to visit some prestigious educational institutions and discover fields of mutual interest thus establishing cooperation within the framework of Erasmus+ mobility programs.

Dean Akbarov firstly paid a visit to Charles University in Prague which is the oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1348, it was the first university in Central Europe. It is one of the oldest universities in Europe in continuous operation and ranks in the upper 1.5 percent of the world’s best universities. He met university representatives led by Prof. Dr. Iva Holmerova, Dean of Humanities Faculty. Both parties discussed the possible cooperation including joint agreement, Erasmus+ cooperation and conference partnership.


In the next leg of the trip Professor Akbarov visited Prague Metropolitan University which ranks among the oldest and largest private universities in the Czech Republic. Professor Akbarov came together with Prof. Dr. Josef Vochozka, Vice Rector for International Relations, together with the high ranked officials. Professor Akbarov and Professor Vochozka agreed to sign joint agreement and start Erasmus+ cooperation. The Agreement will be a frame for further joint conference organization, exchange of students and cooperation between academicians at the two institutions. Professor Akbarov also met with Head of Anglophones Studies Professor Irena Dominikova.


All meetings were valuable and important for further research of fruitful cooperation possibilities. Professor Akbarov expressed satisfaction of the international relations and connections established during his visit to Czech Republic that will lead for the new phase of cooperation with European universities.
