In order to establish a strategic partnership in the field of training of personnel in the mass media industry, RNC rector Kanat Kozhakhmet met with the leadership of the republican television channel Almaty.
The business meeting was attended by the general director of the TV channel Alibek Aldeney, the deputy TV channel Rita Zhugunusova, the deputy director for commercial issues Yerzhan Karak and the producer of TC Ruslan Zheldibay. The delegation from SDU - Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences Marat Ahmadi, Head of Social Sciences the Department Madiyar Saudbaev, Faculty teacher Esengul Kapkyzy and Head of Corporate Development Department Bekzhan Tolybay.
In a B2B format, the parties discussed a number of promising areas of cooperation and outlined specific areas for cooperation in the implementation of the dual education system in training in the field of journalism and communication technologies.
During the negotiations, an agreement was reached to establish a branch of the Journalism Department on the basis of the TV channel, which will allow students to combine the theoretical studies with practice and pass an internship.
Thus, the stipulated model of dual education implies cooperation between the university and the TV channel.
- This is the first experience and an initiative that everyone supports. Let this be the first steps of a strategic partnership. I propose to launch the project in a pilot mode to assess all the advantages and risks: we will understand what kind of curriculum we need and understand which academic disciplines are formed. We already have similar experience of partnership of the faculty of engineering and natural sciences with dynamic IT companies, like "Колеса", "Крыша", "Маркет". Students of SDU during the semester are trained on the basis of these companies and simultaneously work. This practice allows the employer to assess the trainee's skills, which gives motivation and discipline to the student, - said Kanat Kozhahmet.
At the same time, the parties intend to sign a bilateral agreement and set up a working group for a detailed study of the concept of the joint project. The plans of the working group give the project a large-scale coverage and segment the training and production process for various trends in the mass media industry.
